Walking

River Walk and Bikeway

One of Springfield’s best natural resources also provides a scenic walking route. The Connecticut River Walk and Bikeway offers a 3.7-mile paved walking trail from the South End Bridge to the city’s northern border. The bike path winds along the Connecticut’s eastern bank and features remarkable vistas of the Springfield skyline and Memorial Bridge, as well as access to the Basketball Hall of Fame, Riverfront Park, and North Riverfront Park.

Other features of the River Walk include:

  • Scenic overlooks and nature trails
  • Benches and picnic areas
  • Safety and security features, including regular police patrols

Mall Walkers Club

For those looking for a walk out of the elements, the Mall Walkers Club at the Eastfield Mall is a great choice. Whether you are looking for a quiet stroll for one, or would like to meet up with others interested in a group walk, the Mall Walkers Club will provide you with an indoor venue to get active.
